In 2020, we embarked on an exciting journey with Carvana to create a series of vibrant and engaging 3D animations. The goal was to capture the unique experience of Carvana’s car vending machines and simplify the online car-buying process through dynamic motion design and color. Our mission was to bring to life the seamless and innovative car-selling and trading experiences that Carvana offers, using visually compelling animations that reflected their brand's essence.

Carvana

Initial Concept Development: Understanding Carvana's brand and goals, we brainstormed concepts to highlight the ease and innovation of their car-buying experience.

Storyboarding: We created detailed storyboards to visualize key scenes and transitions.

Modeling and Scene Setup in Cinema 4D: Built 3D models and environments to match the storyboard, ensuring dynamic visual elements.

Animation Development: Animated the cars, platforms, and visual effects to create engaging movements that captured the viewer’s attention.

Color Grading and Visual Effects: Applied Carvana's brand colors and enhanced visual elements for a striking look.

Feedback and Iteration: Incorporated feedback from Carvana's team, refining colors, animations, and sequences.

Final Rendering and Export: Produced high-quality animations for digital platforms.

Delivery and Final Approval: Delivered the completed animations, which were deployed across various channels to boost Carvana's brand presence.

Carvana

The creative journey included a detailed vision from Katelyn Bolnick, the Content Producer, who emphasized dynamic spins, flips, and transitions to create a seamless narrative. We experimented with various animation techniques to capture her ideas, like a stack of cash magically appearing on a spinning platform. This required precise timing and coordination in Cinema 4D and several rounds of fine-tuning, making it a fun and challenging process.

Carvana

The final animations achieved everything Carvana envisioned. They featured dynamic transitions, smooth text spins, and visually striking 3D elements like spinning platforms and stacks of cash. The animations effectively communicated Carvana's brand message, highlighted their unique car-selling and trading process, and maintained brand consistency with their colors and style. These high-quality animations were designed for digital platforms like Hulu, ensuring they were both engaging and effective in capturing the audience's attention.
